About The Nurtury Montessori
The Nurtury Montessori is a boutique, family-owned Montessori school that has been serving families since 2007. Founded by Cathy Billone and her daughters Brianna and Jenessa, The Nurtury Montessori was created to provide working parents with a full-day, authentic Montessori experience — a place where children can learn, grow, and thrive from infancy through age six.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is grounded in the vision of Dr. Maria Montessori, who believed that education should nurture the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. By creating beautifully prepared environments with carefully chosen Montessori materials, we foster curiosity, independence, and respect. Indoors and outdoors, children have the freedom to explore and discover at their own pace.
At The Nurtury Montessori, we are more than a school—we are an educational community of teachers and parents, working together to raise capable and compassionate individuals.
What is Montessori?
The Montessori philosophy is a beautiful, expansive, scientific, practical life approach to early childhood education. Dr. Maria Montessori was the first female medical doctor in Italy within a class of all men. She studied how the human brain developed. From that knowledge, she created the Montessori method for early childhood education. Her approach highlights sensitive periods of learning based on the brain development of the child. She wrote many wonderful books that explain her studies. However, two of our favorites are The Absorbent Mind and The Science Behind the Genuis.
Based on her studies of brain development and the sensitive periods for the child’s growth, Montessori teacher training is separated into Infant/Toddler (0-3 years) and Early Childhood (3-6 years).
Programs we offer
At The Nurtury Montessori, we care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, providing age-appropriate environments, materials, and activities that support each stage of development. Every detail of our schools is designed to nurture children’s independence, creativity, and confidence so that when they transition to elementary school, they are well-prepared academically, socially, and emotionally.
INFANT PROGRAM
[6 Weeks – 18 Months]
A nurturing environment with sensorial materials, movement areas, and individualized care.
TODDLER PROGRAM
[18 Months – 3 Years]
Practical life activities, early sensorial exploration, and plenty of space for movement and discovery.
PRIMARY PROGRAM
[3 Years – 6 Years]
Multi-age classrooms with Montessori activities in Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography, Art, Music, and Science.
