The "Nurtury", a Montessori Infant/Toddler House opened its doors in the fall of 2007 in New Rochelle, New York and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. These houses currently accommodate 14 children in a home atmosphere designed just for them. We are delighted to announce that in addition to these two Infant/Toddler Houses, we will be opening The Nurtury Montessori School in LaGrange, NY in July 2008. The Nurtury will be a sanctuary of peace, empathy, and gentleness within our increasingly frantic society. At the Nurtury children will grow according to their natural pace, sleep when sleepy, wake up when rested, eat when hungry, cry when upset, express feelings, play and explore without being unnecessarily interrupted. In other words, be allowed to grow and blossom as each was meant to.
Cathy Billone, with the encouragement of her two daughters, Brianna and Jenessa, decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of hers to open Montessori houses just for Infants and Toddlers. Cathy graduated from Hunter College and has her NYS teaching Certification as well as Montessori Infant, Toddler, and Primary Certification. She has been involved in teaching, training teachers, running classrooms, and running an entire school for over thirty years. She was the founder of the Brendon Montessori School which is still in existence in Dutchess County, New York with an enrollment of 200 children from 18 months to 6th grade. She was the Education Director of the Hudson Country Montessori School for the past 5 years and has also been a Montessori Consultant and Lecturer for the past eight years.
Brianna Billone has a BS from Florida State University and has had a very successful five year career in business in New York City and her sister, Jenessa Stearns grauated with a Law degree from the University of Miami. Both girls have been rasied as Montessorians and could not fight the desire within them to be Montessori educators themselves. They are pursuing their Montessori certifications for Infants and Toddlers, but bring a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and dedication to this very imporant work.

These enclosed materials are intended to give you an initial sense of what we believe about Montessori and about high quality infant care. We are confident this information will stir up a few thoughts on child development in general and an interest in what we have to offer.
